Projects
I was commissioned to assist a counseling and therapy practice with possibly rebranding an old Wordpress site. Our conversation made it clear that functionality and simplicity was needed for this very busy business owner. Although Wordpress allows for fantastic customization, something more streamlined and easy to update was needed. All content and copy was updated and created with Wix.
Claire On A Chair
This published children's book was part of a new product that was to be available at Claire's during the holiday season. A plush ballerina bunny came packaged with a paperback book. This was mostly collaborative with the Creative & Art Directors on hand to help steer the project. My role was to create the story itself based on a bunny and her adventures inside the magical land that is Claire's.
The beginning of my time at HalfStack was in styling photoshoots and quarterly campaigns. Aside from their magazine they also hosted a digital space for articles, local events, lifestyle, and beauty editorials. My role was to help assist on-site, organizing looks, contacting designers, dress & style models, assist the models with camera training, hair styling, and any additional assistance that was needed from the photographer or editor in chief.
My day-to-day at Claire's consists of refreshing copy on home and landing pages seasonally, utilizing word magic for emails, conceptualizing new campaigns, updating SEO, and finding new ways to keep customers engaged via our digital space. Although my focus is primarily ecomm, I have contributed to social, HR, packaging, print, and design where flexibility allows. This link will connect you to a handful of other projects I've done.
After some time at HalfStack, I put in the work to create my own blog focused on art, entertainment, and culture. I attended so many events and interviewed an insane amount of artists, musicians, festival directors, chefs and so much more that my content really started to surpass what I could give to HalfStack as a Senior Editor. Art & Sol was intended for more focused content, and I hired my own photographers to cover events along with me.
I am a fashion major through and through. I have worked in many facets of the industry that when the time came to find internships, fashion shows became a full existence of work. I connected with many designers and stylists that kept me close to assist in the next show. After building good report with those in the industry, it helped me gain better insight on what the business in Chicago fashion looks like. Follow the link to a few photos from events I worked and managed.
This link will take you the various HalfStack issues I had the opportunity to write for. It consists of entertainment, artist interviews, opinion pieces as well as other editorial contributions from others like myself and photographers. HalfStack essentially turned me into the writer I wanted to be, but never thought I actually could be and the bonus of additional connections to build relationships with beyond HS. I was given a lot of freedom to the content I wanted to provide. To see my articles you can visit Art & Sol.
Event Coverage
Chicago is a hub of random events throughout the city and suburbs. I had the pleasure of attending various events ranging from movie premieres, food competitions, dance galas, gallery openings, and beauty events designed for influencers. I had the exciting opportunity to cover these events for HalfStack and Art & Sol that allowed me to build a community of followers that loved to venture in and around the city. It also helped me learn so much more about Chicago culture.
College opened me up to my love of tailored menswear. This link takes you to my own forecasting of seasonal looks paired with the psychographics and the demographics for a clear understanding of whom this would benefit. I used Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to create this forecast manual.
Catalog >
Using Adobe InDesign, Lightroom and Illustrator I created a mock H&M catalog to showcase my design and concept range. Photos were taken by myself, the model is my oldest daughter. Clothes are H&M and styled by me.
